This project explores the face of poet, writer and scholar, Juliane Okot Bitek. I've invited her to be involved in the process of making. All or some of these drawings will be developed into an installation and video. We've also discussed the possibility of integrating some of Juliane's poetry into the project.

Because she lives in another city our conversations have been via email, text and Zoom calls. She's supplied me with a series of selfies, that I use as references for the drawings. Early on in our conversations, I warned her that the drawings would, most likely, not be flattering, In spite of this she was still keen to participate.
